Jay Glasier

President & Chairman of the Board

A 30-year business veteran, Jay brings with him the first-hand experience in business. After obtaining his Engineering Certificate in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration from Fanshawe College in 1986, Jay began his professional career with a drive and passion to eventually open his own business. In 1994 with a small loan from his father, Jay embarked on founding QPS Mechanical Contractors – a business he still manages to this day. From starting with 2 employees, he now employs over 20 personnel and operates in a new 10,000 sq/ft state of the art facility. Jay is the recipient of the Canadian GeoExchange Coalition Installers Course and has positioned his company as a premier supplier and installer for HVAC in residential and large scale industrial projects and one of Trane’s largest South Western Ontario dealers. Happy married to his wife Glynis of nearly 30 years, his son is working to take over the family business and his daughter is currently attending university.

Jason Guttridge

Born and raised 7 Farms Down on a poultry farm, Jason has spent much of his life revolving around agriculture both directly and indirectly. Jason attended St. Clair College to obtain his Associates Degree in Human Resource Management and later his Bachelors of Business Administration majoring in Leadership Management from Davenport University. After graduation, Jason got into the finance industry obtaining his Mutual Funds Accreditation and Life License Qualification. He served as an investment advisor for almost 10 years dealing with predominantly agricultural clientele. He also gained significant experience with a leading Human Resource Firm and worked with a nonprofit lobbying for small businesses. Jason brings with him sincere passion and energy and has also put time into his community from organizing the Terry Fox Run, fundraising for anti-bullying and being Volunteer MC at local events. Jason is a veteran musician and studio drummer, enjoys songwriting, a legacy cannabis grower/enthusiast and if it’s warm outside, you can often find him on Rondeau Bay with his family boating.

Bill Guttridge

COO & Director

Bill has over 16 years of experience in the Tier 1/2 automotive industry with extensive system design, operations management and project management experience managing complex robotic automation projects on a large scale in the automotive sector. He obtained his Manufacturing Engineering Technologist diploma from Fanshawe College and later his Bachelor of Business Administration through Davenport University graduating with the highest honours. Throughout his career Bill has taken several courses in lean operations and quality methodologies and is currently pursuing his Project Management Professional (PMP) designation through the Project Management Institute (PMI). Born and raised 7 Farms Down in a “multi-generational farming family”, agriculture has always played an important part in his life. Bill is happily married with two loving boys. In his spare time, he enjoys DIY projects, weekend camping trips, and is a cannabis enthusiast.

Ted Jarecsni

Having over 40 years in the agricultural industry, Ted brings with him a lifetime of experience and expertise in horticulture, row crop agriculture, and organic growing. Born and raised 11 Farms Down, Ted began his farming career in 1978 to which he remains heavily involved and passionate about. Ted received his degree in Field Crop & Livestock Production and majored in Agricultural Management with the University of Guelph and throughout his career, he has received the Certified Crop Advisor Designation, 30-year Award for Pedigree Seed Production and served 20 years on the South Raleigh Fire Department. With over 30 years of experience in growing commercial tomatoes, cucumbers, pedigree soybeans, wheat, IP soybeans and commercial corn for processing, Ted became an Organic Specialist advising growers on the benefits of organic agriculture. Having not only successfully managed a farm operation for 30+ years, he is also an experienced agronomist and has worked with the leading agricultural retail companies over his career and was the Field Manager and Agronomist for an Independent (IP) Soybean Processor. Ted has held the position of President with Kent & Essex Mutual Insurance Co and served on it’s Board of Directors for 26 years where he received his Ontario Mutual Insurance Association (OMIA) Directors Certification Program and became an OMIA Accredited Director. Ted is the proud husband to his amazing wife Cheryl, who has two wonderful daughters and two beautiful grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys his family and friends, traveling, cooking, gardening discussing world news and events and most importantly, agriculture.

Curt Lansens

Head of Security

Curt brings with him over 30 years of law enforcement experience and has had the opportunity to see many advancements in the field of forensic identification with Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) which included the recently built state of the art forensics building in Chatham OPP Detachment. Having attended St. Clair College to obtain his degree in Law and Security Administration, he was the honourable recipient of the Windsor and District Security Council Award. Curt joined the Ontario Provincial Police in 1987 in Elliot Lake, served locally for 4 years, was promoted to Detective Constable in Glencoe’s OPP Detachment and in 1995 transferred to London Ontario and specialized in forensic identification. Curt later become the Forensic Identification Sergeant and Forensic Unit Supervisor in Chatham Ontario; a position he held for 18 years in his hometown. Curt has been happily married for 31 years and has two adult children. Since his retirement from law enforcement in 2017, Curt has enjoyed spending his spare time woodworking, furniture making, and welding.

Brian Coutts

Brian is the Business Development Manager and is responsible for “Food & Pharma” segments of A & L Canada Labs which includes cannabis, hemp, and food processing. After graduating from the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus in Agricultural Business & Crop Production, Brian worked in the agricultural space for 25+ years and brings with him knowledge from advising growers on proper agronomy.

He managed one of the leading agricultural retail companies with locations spread across Ontario and was responsible for $110+ MM portfolio including fertilizers, crop protection, seed, agronomy, precision agriculture, and professional application services.

Brian was one of 30 people in the inaugural class of Certified Crop Advisors in Canada 25 years ago which is a voluntary professional enhancement certification program advising growers on agronomic practices that meet the program’s ethical and environmentally sustainable standards. He sits on the board today supporting science and sustainability for future professionals advising growers on agronomy. He has been involved with many committees supporting agriculture including past chair of the Ontario Agri-Business Association, the Great Lakes Watershed, and 4 R Nutrient Stewardship strategy in Ontario.

Brian works with licensed producers, food processing companies, micro, medical and personal growers across Canada to service their needs for analytical testing and agronomic information using the latest technologies for cannabis and hemp.

Av Singh is one of Canada’s leading authorities on organic agriculture. After completing his post-doc at the University of Minnesota on pasture-based livestock production, Singh worked at the Organic Agriculture Centre of Canada and served as the Organic and Small-Scale Farming Specialist in Nova Scotia, for over 15 years, and recently held the Just Us! Chair in Small Farm Sustainability.

Dr. Singh has authored over 200 peer-reviewed papers, chapters, and extension articles and has been an invited speaker to over 500 workshops, conferences, symposia as well as guest-lecturing at over 30 universities in Canada, the US, the UK, and India. Av has had the privilege of visiting over 2000 farms across five continents which has shaped his extension of holistic, system-based design solutions.

Emphasizing a union of traditional knowledge with science, Av works with growers to cultivate an appreciation of plant:soil interrelationships.

Currently, Av and his colleague Randy Flemming serve as Cultivation Advisors within the cannabis industry. Av is also the Chief Science Officer with Green Gorilla (a Cannabidiol Company) and formerly served as the Chief Agronomist with the American Cannabis Company.

Av is also serving as the Vice-President of the Canadian Organic Growers and is proud to be a member of Slow Food Canada, Food Secure Canada, Cannabis Certification Council, and the National Farmers’ Union. Av is also a faculty member at Earth University (Navdanya) in India where he delivers courses on agroecology and organic farming.

CEO of Overton Environmental Enterprises Inc. and Founder of EcoTea, an advanced liquid biological soil/crop amendment. Dale is a seasoned ecologist with over 15 years of experience in soil and aquatic ecology. Dale also has an in-depth knowledge of cannabis cultivation both in greenhouse and outdoor scenarios, with over ten years of experience in cannabis cultivation and consulting.

Further, Dale has an exceptional knowledge of how functional microbes can be utilized in plant systems to improve plant health and the quality of desired parameters. Dale works with some of the largest farms in Canada and has also been headhunted to work on urban land reclamation projects in the USA. Dale also works with large multi-national food processing and forestry companies on sustainability by transforming organic waste streams into value add, innovative products. Dale is a passionate entrepreneur and scientist who enjoys sharing information to help create a sustainable future for generations to come.

Todd Ellis

A jack of all trades, Todd brings to the table expert financial analysis, strong business acumen and technical background in commercial applications as a tradesman. Todd began his apprenticeship with Hercon Sheet Metal in 1995 after high school and quickly obtained his G3 Licence (pipefitters) before pursuing his post-secondary education at Fanshawe College graduating with his Engineering Certificate in Sheet Metal in 1998. Todd began work and eventually bought into QPS Mechanical Contractors as an equal partner in 2001 and has been instrumental in its expansion and success since. Acting as the controller, Todd has honed in on his financial acuity with his ability to quickly analyze detailed financial statements, identify issues or trends and quickly intervene. Todd has his Ontario Building Code Certification as a designer for HVAC Systems for residential and small commercial projects as well as his Canadian GeoExchange Coalition Installers Course. Happily married of 20 years, Todd has two boys with one apprenticing to eventually take over his share of the business.
